Our Story

Born from nature. Rooted in science.

The Latin word Nativa derives from the verb nasci, meaning “to be born”. The roots connect to the core concepts of birth, nature, and origin, and directly tie into Nativa’s approach to using the most premium products derived and re-engineered from the chrysanthemum flower. Nativa is locally rooted; born and originating from foothills to service the greater Seneca and Anderson areas.

Nativa’s founding vision is to be a premium brand and service that customers can not only entrust, but also be proud of. This means no corners cut from the best brand, customer experience, service delivery, and pyrethrin/pyrethoid based products in order to chase the extra dime.

Pyrethrin/Pyrethoid based products are either directly derived from nature, or, reengineered synthetically identical for lasting effectiveness. These products are the gold standard when it comes to pest control and most closely reflect nature’s own defence against pests vs. cheaper and more hardcore chemicals.

Nativa’s colors are derived from plant and flower samples and our logo signifies your home natively being protected with the shape and outward momentum of the chrysanthemum flower.

The problem

Pests Love South Carolina

Pest pressures in the foothills are at a record high. Milder winters, extended warm seasons, increased humidity and rainfall, urbanization and landscaping trends, have all increased the nuisance of pests in South Carolina in and around the home.

Ants

Fire ants and various household ant species are widespread throughout western South Carolina. They invade homes for food and can create painful stings outdoors.

Mosquitos

They thrive in the warm, humid Upcountry environment. Asian Tiger mosquitoes are aggressive daytime biters, while Culex mosquitoes are active at dusk and can carry West Nile virus.

Orb Spider

Abundant in wooded and garden areas throughout the Upstate. They build large circular webs commonly found on docks.

Termites

Eastern Subterranean Termites – Very active in the warm, moist soil of western South Carolina. They can cause substantial damage to wooden structures if not detected early.

Black Widow

Common around woodpiles, sheds, crawlspaces, and outdoor debris in western South Carolina. Their venomous bites can cause significant symptoms.

Fleas

Common in wooded and rural Upstate areas where wildlife and pets roam. They thrive in warm, humid weather and can quickly infest yards and homes

Recluse Spiders

Found occasionally in older homes and storage areas in the Upcountry. They hide in dark, undisturbed spaces and may cause painful bites if disturbed.

Palmetto Bugs

Large American cockroaches common in the humid Upstate climate. They often enter homes seeking moisture, especially in basements and bathrooms.

Ticks

Abundant in the Upcountry’s forests and tall grasses. Species like the Lone Star and blacklegged tick are active most of the year and can transmit diseases.
